Antony is an astute technocrat with 35 years of experience in multifarious fields. Antony has been at the helm of affairs of Kunnel Engineers and Contractors Pvt Ltd for the last 23 years from 1994 when Kunnel Engineers, a 1950 vintage company, was converted from a partnership to a Private Ltd firm. Under his stewardship the Company has witnessed a multifold growth in net assets and development from a regional entity to a pan India Construction Company.
The Vishwakarma Award for the Best Professionally Managed Company from the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), the award for the Outstanding Concrete Structure of Kerala in the Apartments Category, from the Indian Concrete Institute etc., is a testament to Antony’s leadership.
Antony is a prominent figure in the Construction Industry. He is a past Secretary General of the International Federation of Asia Western Pacific Contractors Association [IFAWPCA] having its Headquarters at Manila, Philippines. He is the third Indian to be installed as the Secretary General of this prestigious organization. He is also a member of Governing Council of CREDAI National and a member of Builder's Association of India National Committee. He is the Founder Director of CREDAI Clean City Movement (CCCM) a national campaign of CREDAI which promotes solid waste management by processing of domestic waste at source. He is also a past President and Chairman of CREDAI Kochi.
He is a founder member of Association of Construction Engineers [ACE], member of Kerala Management Association [KMA], Confederation of Indian Industry [CII], the Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, etc. He is also a government nominated member of the Kerala Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board.
After graduation, Antony started his career with the TATA group at Mumbai. After a couple of years with the Tata Electric Company he joined Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) at Kochi, where he worked for 10 years in a managerial capacity. Thereafter he took on the mantle of heading Kunnel Engineers.
Antony was a brilliant basketball player during his youth and has represented his University. He still indulges in a game of basketball whenever time permits. He is a member of the Rotary International and is known for his philanthropic activities. He is resident at Kochi with his wife Jaimol. His son works with Ernest and Young in USA and his daughter is a brilliant artist and an alumnus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology. She was a selected participant in the Road Trip Experience Project Vietnam 2017 along with artists from 09 countries around the globe.
